This is not your average wedding blog - let's get real!

So are you a Magazine or a Forum?

We're a hybrid - a place to be inspired like a magazine - and a place to chat with other gals - a private forum :)

What do you chat about here?

Wedding stuff obviously, but not always. We like to keep the door open to talk about anything that's on your mind. You can speak openly in our private forum.

Things I picked up along the way:

  • A wedding does not need to be over the top to be a success.
  • BIGGER does not always mean BETTER.
  • Simple weddings can be beautiful.
  • After the guests have gone home the real work begins. Not many brides are prepared for what it takes to transition from "singledom" to "married life", or the work it takes to make a marriage flow smoothly (yes even for "happy couples").

Why did I start a community for brides? I planned my own wedding (with the help of family, who I am very grateful for) on a shoestring budget, in a city where the Indian community is small (and the Caribbean-Indian community is even smaller). So I hit the internet looking for other brides who were in the same boat...

I found very little info on how to actually prepare for this big change that was about to happen in my life, or how to deal with all of the ups and downs after the big day...so I decided to do something about that, and the Desi Bride Mag community grew from there.

Our forum is a safe place where brides in any stage of this journey can chat with each other openly, about the ups and downs of wedding planning.
